• Our psychiatrists are $300/hour for psychotherapy (14 years+) and psychiatric (10 years+) services
• Our psychologists are $150/hour for psychotherapy only services
• One-hour sessions consist of 50 minutes with the patient, and 10 minutes of administrative duties such as calling in prescriptions & filing paperwork.
New patients usually require between 1-3 intake evaluation/treatment planning sessions. All evaluation/treatment planning sessions are 50 minutes long and are referred to as an “hour.” (The remaining 10 minutes are used for administrative requirements (completing paperwork, calling in your meds, filling out the session receipt, etc.)
Follow up patients
Ongoing care for psychotherapy only or psychotherapy with medication management sessions will require “hour” long follow up sessions. Appointments that are strictly medication management will be 20-25 minute appointments and are referred to as a “half hour.”
Note that appointments can only be cancelled or rescheduled with more than 24-hour notice. Failure to provide 24-hour notice will result in that slot being unavailable for another patient. Therefore, you will be charged the full fee for the appointment time.
Out of appointment requests
Phone calls and paperwork in excess of those routinely required as part of evaluation and treatment will be charged in 15 minute increments pro-rated at the doctor’s rate. ($300/ hour for a psychiatrist and $150/ hour for a psychologist.)
University Elite does not accept insurance, but can provide you with a receipt or “super bill” that you may submit to your insurance company in an attempt to obtain reimbursement for “out-of-network” services.
Please contact your insurance company ahead of time to determine whether or not you have out-of-network benefits and to learn what your reimbursement rate will be.
Prescription drug benefit
If your insurance has a prescription drug benefit, prescriptions written by University Elite Physicians will typically be covered by insurance.
If you don’t have insurance, there are many affordable medication options to choose from. Just discuss this with your physician.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you have adequate medication supplies. In the rare case where active patients don’t have enough refills between appointments, we can generally call in a sufficient supply to last until your next appointment.
Note that early refills will not be given for stimulants or benzodiazapines.
Be aware that University Elite physicians do not manage acute or chronic pain or prescribe maintenance medications for opiate use disorder. This includes suboxone, buprenorphine, methadone, oxycontin, etc. Moreover, none of the medications are distributed and samples are not available at any clinic locations.
